About

I’m an artist working with themes of memory, the poetics of ruins and post-humanism. I use digital techniques to create virtual worlds, 3D sculptures, video, sound design and other conceptual forms to pose open-ended questions. Intimate encounters with people or objects, considered as the « other », provide me with material to work with and, over time, the relationships formed will define the aesthetics of the projects. I observe the past through individual stories by using oral histories I myself record or archival material such as found footage. By broadening my definition of the “other”, I question the current role of artificial intelligence and, more broadly, our relationship with digital environments. Our experiences of these spaces raise a number of questions that stimulate me; our tendency to remove ourselves from the tangible world, the monopolisation of our attention and the fragmentation of data. My practice aims to illuminate an intimate understanding of the self and how individuals occupy their environment. Finding shared collective experiences allow me to move from the hyper personal to crucial global topics of our time such as decolonisation or our relationship to death. A fundamental part of my approach involves the process of protecting and saving memories and then making them accessible to others. Through my work, I hope to share and create reflections about our relationship to existence and to what defines us as human beings.
